Four alliums in bloom

It amazes me how the weather has such an impact on when flowers bloom.

This photo was taken mid May. The alliums were in full majestic bloom as Norfolk was bathed in early spring sunshine.

Last year, these plants did not flower until mid June. Nearly a month later as they were stunted by an unseasonal rainy and cool spring.

Alliums make a wonderful table display, snip the stems at the bottom and place them in a tall narrow neck vase, display in a cool place for optimum longevity. Or just admire in your flower bed, the bees love them!
